Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will leave for Delhi on Friday to attend the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled to be held on July 27.
According to sources, Chief Minister Majhi will leave for Delhi on Friday to attend the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for Saturday. The meeting is expected to discuss various developmental issues and policy matters.
It is learnt that at least four chief ministers, including three from the Congress, are set to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting in protest against the discriminatory Union Budget, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair NITI Aayog’s ninth Governing Council meeting, which will discuss the ‘Vikshit Bharat@2047’ document to make India a developed nation, said sources.
The Council, the apex body of NITI Aayog, includes all State Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories, and several Union Ministers.
It is worth mentioning that NITI Aayog is the premier policy-making body of the Government of India, which was established in 2015.
