Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of journalist Sheela Pattanayak, who was associated with News-7 Odia, in a road accident in Puri.
In a social media post, Majhi condoled the death of lady journalist Sheela Pattanayak and described her as a responsible journalist who had earned a renowned reputation in the media world, and her demise is an irreplaceable loss to the world of journalism.
Taking to his X handle, he wrote: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic accident-related death of Shila Pattnayak, the young journalist of News-7 Odia. As a responsible journalist, she had earned a renowned reputation in the media world. This is an irreplaceable loss for the world of journalism. Along with praying for the eternal peace of her soul at the feet of Lord Shri Jagannath, I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. Om Shanti.”
Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and other senior leaders have also condoled Pattanayak’s death, praying for her eternal peace and conveying condolences to the bereaved family members
It is pertinent to mention that Pattanayak, along with another woman, was killed when their scooter slipped on sand scattered on Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway near Mangalpur under Pipili police limits, and a private bus ran over them.
