Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed concern over the tragic incident in which an Indian bus carrying 40 passengers plunged into Nepal’s Marsyangdi River in Tanahun district, resulting in at least 14 deaths .
The bus accident occurred on Friday, and the Chief Minister took to social media to express his condolences to the families of the victims.
Taking to his X handle, CM Majhi wrote: “The news of the Indian bus falling into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal is extremely heart-wrenching. I offer my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls. I also pray to Lord Jagannath for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
The tragic accident occurred earlier today when an Indian-registered bus carrying at least 40 passengers fell into the Marsyangdi river. The incident took place at approximately 11:30 am.
A rescue operation is currently underway, with a team of 45 Armed Police Force personnel, led by SSP Madhav Paudel, working to assist those affected.
