Puri: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by his wife, paid a personal visit to the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Thursday to offer prayers and seek blessings from the Lord.
The Chief Minister and his wife performed darshan of Lord Jagannath, participated in the ongoing Jhulana Jatra, and later visited the Mukti Mandap, where they received blessings from the Brahmins.
As part of the visit, the Chief Minister also offered prayers at the temples of Goddess Bimala and Goddess Mahalakshmi within the Shree Bedha. Upon arrival at the Simhadwar, the couple was warmly welcomed by temple servitors, who presented them with the sacred Khandua cloth of Lord Jagannath and escorted them inside the sanctum.
Before their departure, the servitors felicitated the Chief Minister and his wife near Simhadwar in a symbolic gesture of reverence.
Speaking about the visit, senior servitor Somanath Khuntia clarified that the occasion was purely personal and spiritual in nature. “The Chief Minister came with his wife to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath and prayed for the welfare of the people of Odisha,” he said.
