Jagatsinghpur: BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today extolled his party’s Paradip MLA candidate Sambit Routray for being a pallbearer and setting the example of being ‘a friend in need, a friend indeed’.
In his tweet in Odia, Naveen Patnaik has mentioned that a leader, who is with the people at the time of their need, is a true people’s representative.
“Winding up his electioneering half way, our Paradip MLA candidate Sambit Routray has exhibited humanity by being a pallbearer and helping the funeral reach the crematorium for last rites. Besides condoling the death and offering my sympathy to the bereft kin, I pat Sambit for such a noble deed,” Naveen’s tweet has also mentioned.
As per reports, the incident took place yesterday on the auspicious occasion of Pana Sankranti at Ranitola village of Paragdei Gram Panchayat under Tirtol block in Jagatsinghpur district. Sambit had to abandon his vote canvassing to carry the deadbody on his shoulders and reached the crematorium.
Not only this, Sambit also actively participated in the holy Hanuman Jayanti celebration at Chakradharpur village under Paradipgarh Gram Panchayat and sang ‘bhajan’ (devotional song).
