Odisha CM Reviews Flash Flood Situation In Rayagada
**Bhubaneswar:** Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called an emergency meeting on Sunday to review the flood-like situation at Kalyansinghpur block in Rayagada district.
The emergency meeting was held at office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) where several top Government officials were present.
Informing media persons that ODRAF, CRPF and fire fighters were pressed into rescued operation, SRC Bishnupada Sethi the State Government has sought four helicopters form Indian Air Force to air lift the people, if required.
Two bridges have been washed away resulting in disruption of communication service in the area.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the CM said: “The SRC is monitoring the situation and the rescue operation is going on under the supervision of Rayagada Collector.”
The CM also said South Range Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) and DIG were instructed to keep a close watch on the situation.
People were given dry food in the flood affected areas and four helicopters are ready to participate in the rescue activities, the SRC added.
Meanwhile, the Weather office predicted that several districts in Southern Odisha will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall till July 18.
