Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi reviewed the overall law and order situation in the State with the DGP and other senior police officials of the State on Saturday. The CM emphasized on the delivery of quality service to the people.
“All our senior officials from the police headquarters, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar today met the Chief Minister. It was a courtesy call. We discussed different issues with him. He asked about the status of the police in the State. He especially stressed providing quality service to the people, listening to the complaints of people visiting police stations,” revealed DGP Arun Sarangi to reporters after the meeting with the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister directed us to behave well with the people, Sarangi added.
“Accordingly, we will inform all to behave well with the people and listen to their complaints. And all will try to deliver quality police service,” the DGP said.
On being asked about the implementation of the 3 new criminal laws to come into force from July 1 in the country, Sarangi said that they have informed the Chief Minister about it and their preparations for it.
“The Chief Minister will review it,” Sarangi added.
Apart from DGP Sarangi, the meeting was attended by Special Secretary (Home) Santosh Bala, ADGs Sanjay Kumar, R K Sharma, Arun Bothra, Amitabh Thakur, Director Intelligence Saumendra Priyadarshi, Twin City Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda and other senior police officials.
