Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today convened a high level meeting and reviewed the ongoing relief and restoration works in Puri and Khurda districts.
The extremely severe cyclone Fani’s impact was the severest in these two districts which have suffered insurmountable damage in the calamity.
During the review, over video-conferencing, it was observed that water supply in both the districts is nearing normal and connectivity to 90 percent of the villages in Puri has been established.
Naveen directed senior officials and stakeholders to expedite power supply and mobile connectivity restoration. ‘Mobile tower on wheels’ are being used in Puri for immediate restoration of cellular connectivity.
While relief distribution have commenced in Bhubaneswar from Tuesday, in other areas of Khurda district the process will start at war-footing from Wednesday.
Chief Secretary AP Padhi, Development Commissioner Asit Tripathy, senior officers heading various Departments, senior officers in-charge of Puri and Khurda and the Collectors of the two districts were in attendance at the review meeting.
