Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 20 for the overall development of Gupteshwar Pith in Koraput district. The Pith will be developed into an important religious, historical, and tourist place in Odisha.
It is worth noting that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, 5T Secretary VK Pandian visited the Gupteswar temple during his tour of Koraput on February 3. Pandian directed the District Collector to provide a detailed project report for the improvement and beautification of the temple after discussions with the temple staff, committee members, public representatives, and the local people. Following this, the Chief Minister has sanctioned the money as per the proposal of the District Collector. The development work will be taken up under the 5T initiative.
The project includes the upgradation and lighting of the main road of the temple, paving of the footpaths, beautification of the temple entrance, development of various facilities for devotees and tourists, such as drinking water and toilets, lighting of the cave, beautification of the banks of Sabari River, construction of new shops. Planting of trees will also be done along with measures to prevent landslides and protect the hills.
The Chief Minister has directed to improve the foothills under the 5T initiative without affecting the natural beauty of the area.
