Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sanctioned Rs 8.50 crore for the development of famous Baladevjew Temple in Kendrapara and the grand road in front of it.
“Friends, in last June on Snana Purnima I had visited Baldevjew Temple. I had discussed with the sevayats and you had placed a proposal for the development of Tulsi Kshetra. Today Kendrapara Collector has submitted a detailed proposal on that. I have approved this proposal. For the purpose I have sanctioned Rs 8.50 crore,” said Patnaik through video conferencing.
Patnaik sanctioned the amount after holding a high-level meeting with Kendrapara MP, MLA, District Collector, Temple Trust members and servitors through video conferencing this evening, said an official.
At today’s meeting, it was decided to develop the temple, famous as ‘Tulsi Kshetra’ to an attractive tourist site, the official added.
The official stated that as per decisions taken at the meeting, the Baldevjew Temple and its premises will be decorated with attractive lighting system including both sides of the grand road apart from development of a spiritual park, renovation of the heritage tank, conservation of ancient monuments, and development of drainage system and strengthening of temple security.
Patnaik directed the officers to maintain the quality of the projects and complete them before the next car festival, besides, seeking cooperation from the people of Kendrapara for the success of these projects, the official added.
