Odisha CM Sows Sacred ‘Akhi Muthi’ On ‘Akshaya Trutiya’ In Angul, Wishes Farmers Bumper Harvest

**Angul: ** On his one-day whirlwind visit to Angul district, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Trutiya graced the State Level Krushak Divas and participated in ‘Akhi Muthi’ (sacred ritual of sowing paddy seeds) ceremony in Nakachi village under Kishore Nagar block in the district here.

The CM also graced scores of development programmes and laid foundation stones.

In his media reactions, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “I’m very happy to be in Angul district to celebrate Akshaya Trutiya. I wish all the farmers of our State a very good harvest.”

The CM landed here by helicopter at 9.30 am and headed towards Nakachi village for the State-level ‘Akhi Muthi’ceremony at 10.20 am.

He also inaugurated a 33 KV electric sub-station, Orada Nullah Sanarihila bridge at Nakachi.

There he inaugurated Amenity Centre. The CM also dedicated a Kalyan Mandap there named after Biju Patnaik.

The CM also laid foundation stones for 220, 132 and 33 KV electric sub-stations at Goutampur.

Foundation stone was also laid by the CM for the Rural Development (RD) road project that would connect Kothabhuin and Dalasingha.

Later, he addressed a public gathering at Badadangiani and flew back to Bhubaneswar at around 11.30 am.

While all the inaugurated projects have been built at a total estimated cost of Rs 34 crores, 98 lakhs and 38 thousands, the total estimated cost of the foundation stone laid projects stands at Rs 177 crores, 56 lakhs and 7 thousands, official sources said.

Prior to the CM’s Angul tour, district police made preventive detention of District BJP president Bhagirathi Pradhan and over 40 BJP workers in Handapa and Kishore Nagar.
