Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police will clamp traffic restrictions in some parts of the capital city of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday because of the oath-taking ceremony of the new Odisha Chief Minister.
While the oath-taking ceremony of the first BJP Chief Minister in Odisha and the Council of Ministers will be held at the Janata Maidan in the city on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a thanks-giving roadshow in Bhubaneswar ahead of the mega event.
According to the traffic advisory released by the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police, movement of all vehicles will be prohibited from the Jaydev Vihar Square to Nalco Square road and Nalco Square to Jaydev Vihar and the connecting lanes/by-lanes from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm on Wednesday or till the end of the function. Only vehicle owners with special passes for the oath-taking ceremony will be allowed to pass through these routes.
Buses coming from Cuttack can avail of the service roads after Rasulgarh ROB, Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Apollo Hospital, Sainik School, Press Chhak, NALCO Square, and Kalinga Hospital. Drivers can park their vehicles on the road in a single line from the Railway Colony Chhak towards Utkal Hospital and Hatiasuni Chhak.
Buses coming from Nandankanan towards OMFED Square have to turn left towards MCL Guest House, and then take the right turn towards Press Chhak before turning right again at the dropping point at OSAP 7th Battalion Gate, NALCO Square, Kalinga Hospital road and park the vehicle on the same stretch.
Buses coming from the Khurda side have to take the service road after Jaydev Vihar Square Flyover Bridge — Acharya Vihar Square and towards Apollo Hospital, Sainik School, Press Chhak to dropping point at the OSAP 7th Bn. Gate to NALCO Square andKalinga Hospital Road. They can park their vehicle on the same stretch.
Similarly, all four-wheelers from Cuttack can avail of the service roads after Rasulgarh ROB, Vani Vihar Square, Acharya Vihar, and take a right turn from Apollo Hospital and proceed towards the Sainik School campus. The drivers can park their vehicles near the Sainik School campus.
