Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister JP Nadda for approving the commencement of MBBS admissions in Talcher’s Pabitra Mohan Medical College and Khandhamal’s Phulbani Government Medical College. Each college will have 100 MBBS seats starting from the 2025-26 academic year.
The Chief Minister welcomed this development and described it as a moment of great joy for Odisha, highlighting its potential to create new opportunities in medical education and strengthen healthcare services across the state. The new medical colleges are expected to improve access to quality healthcare, particularly in the regions of Talcher and Kandhamal.
Taking to his X handle, CM Majhi wrote: “It’s a moment of great joy for Odisha that approval has been granted to start the admission process for 100 MBBS seats each at Pabitra Mohan Medical College in Talcher and Phulbani Government Medical College in Kandhamal from the academic year 2025-26. On behalf of the people of Odisha, I express my heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri @JPNadda ji for this. This historic step will not only create new opportunities in medical education in the state but also further strengthen healthcare services across Odisha, especially in Talcher and Kandhamal, ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for our people.
