Odisha CM Thanks Prime Minister, Rail Minister For New Amrit Bharat Train Service

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving a new Amrit Bharat train service between Podanur (Coimbatore) and Dhanbad.

CM Majhi praised the Central Government’s commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure and accelerating development in Odisha, saying it will bring convenience and opportunities to the people.

The train will benefit seven districts in southern and western Odisha, including the KBK region, with stoppages at key stations like Rayagada, Sambalpur, and Rourkela.

Taking to his X handle, CM wrote: “Grateful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and the Hon’ble Union Railways Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji for their continued support towards the development of Odisha. The newly approved Amrit Bharat train service between Podanur (Coimbatore) and Dhanbad will be a major boost for connectivity in Odisha. With stoppages at Rayagada, Muniguda, Kesinga, Titlagarh, Balangir, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Rourkela, the service will benefit seven districts across southern and western Odisha, including the KBK region. It will also provide direct rail links to key cities in Tamil Nadu such as Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Salem, and important industrial centres in Jharkhand including Ranchi, Bokaro and Dhanbad, strengthening economic and social linkages”.

He further wrote: “This initiative reflects the Central Government’s continued commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure and accelerating development in Odisha, bringing greater convenience and new opportunities for our people.”
