Odisha CM To Conduct Ground Assessment At Landslide Site Today
**Bhubaneswar:** Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit the landslide site in Baraghara village under Gangabada panchayat of Gajapati district today and interact with the affected families.
Reportedly on October 11, the landslide triggered by very severe cyclonic storm Titli had claimed 15 lives in the village.
As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Patnaik will fly to Gangabada and from there he will travel by road to the landslide village situated around 5 kilometre away.
Following it, the Chief Minister will leave for Bhanjanagar, one of the worst affected areas in the post-cyclone flood, in his home district Ganjam. He will take stock of relief and restoration process in both the places.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi had yesterday confirmed a total of 26 deaths in the cyclone and the flood that followed. 18 deaths have been reported from Gajapati district alone.
Sethi had further informed that reports of further deaths across Odisha will be thoroughly investigated and Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia will be provided to next of kin of the deceased.
