Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday afternoon left for national capital New Delhi.
As per the tour schedule, a meeting has been fixed with Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday evening regarding Odisha’s interests.
On Friday, the Odisha Chief Minister will attend a conference being organised by the non-resident Odias (NROs) there.
Notably, the conference is to be graced by President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
Later on the day, the CM will attend a lunch party hosted by the President at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Talking to media before leaving for New Delhi, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “I’m leaving for Delhi today. This evening I’ve a meeting with the Union Power Minister. Tomorrow I’ll be attending the non-resident Odias’ conference. The President will be attending that as well.”
On being queried about the purpose of meeting the President of India and if he had been invited, he replied, “Yes, I’ve been invited for lunch by the President tomorrow. No purpose has been given.”
On further being asked about his party’s stand on the presidential election due this year, the BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister quipped, “Well we’ve no stand at the moment.”
