Puri: As this coastal district has been the worst affected and restoration work is on a war-footing here, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit the district headquarters town today and review the situation post Cyclone FANI impact and the ongoing measures of relief as well as rehabilitation.
Talking to media, Puri Collector Balwant Singh said, “The Hon’ble CM is coming here at 4 pm to review the relief and restoration works. He will hold the review meeting at the Conference Hall of Circuit House here.”
“First of all I would like to thank all the citizens of this district those who have tolerated the constraints for these 12 days patiently, especially on the electricity front. Today’s update available with me from the Energy Department and CESU team is that some of the consumers will restored with electricity tonight. I would like to make an appeal that our teams are working a war-footing and it will take time to cover all areas. Electricity will be restored in a phased manner,” he stated.
The Puri Collector further stated, “A week is required to cover the whole municipality areas here. The areas that would be covered will be under the process of test. People are appealed not to panic or stage unrest. Please support us for more days.”
Notably, Puri Bada Danda (Grand Road) area and the government offices will be restored with electricity today. Rest of the parts will be supply with power in a phased manner.
