**Bhubaneswar: ** Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited the injured undergoing treatment at AIIMS and Capital Hospital to enquire about the condition of the injured persons. He even discussed with the doctors about the ongoing treatment.
At AIIMs, the CM met Sheetal Patnaik, the girl who lost her father Satyabrata Patnaik in the accident, and enquired about her health. He even extended heartfelt condolences to the family. An ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for the deceased’s family.
Moreover, the State Government will bear the entire expenditure for the treatment of the injured.
Notably, one span of the under-construction over bridge at Bomikhal collapsed in the afternoon on Sunday, 10th of September, in which one man was killed and eleven persons got injured.
The district administration, police ODRAF and NDRF units responded to the situation and the injured were immediately rushed to Capital Hospital and AIIMS where adequate arrangements were made for their treatment. They cleared the debris on a war footing.
Cases have been registered against Panda Infra Project (India) Private Limited, assistant executive engineer Bansidhar Praharaj and assistant engineer Kishore Kumar Rout. Both of them are under suspension. Even the concerned executive engineer Dukhabandhu Behera has been suspended for prima facie lapses.
According to a press release, a high level enquiry by a committee comprising of Chief Engineer, Designs and Chief Engineer, Roads has been ordered which will conduct its enquiry and submit their report within a week.
The CM has assured that stringent and exemplary action will be taken against all persons responsible for this tragic incident.
