Odisha Congress Chief Owns Blame For Panchayat Poll Debacle

**Bhubaneswar**: After a disappointing show in the three-tier Panchayat elections, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Prasad Harichandan took blame for the party’s failure.

Addressing a press conference here, he said, “Both BJP and BJD outspent us and misused the government machineries in these elections. We don’t believe in that kind of politics.”
Reacting to the election results, the ruling party also slammed BJP for involving national leaders in the local elections.

Speaking to OMMCOM NEWS, BJD Spokesperson Sashibhusan Behera Said, “They invited Chief Ministers of the neighbouring states to campaign for them which never happened before.”

On the contrary, BJP refuted the allegations. Party spokesperson Golak Mohapatra said, “We are leading in around 10 districts and will form Zilla Parishads there. People are supporting us across the state. It’s only because people are fed up with the government and they want change. But they are blaming leaders from the neighbouring states for their defeat. Did we tell their leaders not to campaign in the elections?”
