Puri: A couple was sent to custody after they accused of pushing their house owner off the terrace ledge which resulted in latter’s death.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Maharana (65) who had rented his house at Pathuria Sahi under Town Police limits to Benudhar and his wife since past three years. However, since the couple was not paying any rent there was unrest in between them.
After intervention of locals and Police a few days ago Benudhar was asked to vacate the house for which he asked for five-months of time.
On Sunday afternoon, locals heard Narayan’s cries for help as he fell off the ledge. They rushed him to Puri DHH where he was declared brought dead. The police sent his body for autopsy and based on eyewitness statement have taken into custody the accused couple. A probe is underway.
