Cuttack: Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the Crime Branch (CB) of the Odisha police have arrested three cyber fraudsters from Patna in Bihar.
The three fraudsters identified as Akash Kumar (21), Subham Priyadarshi (19), and Kousheldra Kumar alias Lallu (23) were arrested from Hawai Adda police station area of Patna on Friday, said a press release issued by the CID, CB here today.
Police have seized 16 mobile phones of different makes containing SIM, SIM cards of different Mobile Service Providers, Laptop, Pen Drive, Dongle and Rs 8,59,000 in cash, 47 numbers of ATM/Debit card of different banks, Cheque book, Notebook, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, one notebook containing writing of communication skills for installation of Reliance Petrol Pump, one Hindi/English handwritten two pages (both sides) ruling paper regarding how to communicate with the general public for giving dealership of Reliance Petrol Pump over the phone for cheating from the possession of the accused persons.
These fraudsters allegedly defrauded one Om Prakash Mishra (37) of Bhuban of Dhenkanal district to the tune of Rs 40, 45,000 through creation of a fake website reliancepetroleum.org and alluring him to deposit money in different fraud bank accounts for giving dealership of Reliance petrol pump.
The CID CB on receipt of a complaint from Mishra registered a case on January 3, this year under sections 419/420/34 of the IPC read with section 66-D of IT Act 2000 at the CID CB Cyber Crime Police Station and IIC Bibhu Ranjan Sundaray was entrusted with the investigation of the case.
The accused persons following their arrest were produced before the Court of JMFC, Patna for transit remand for production before the Court of JMFC Bhuban.
The accused were being forwarded to the Court of JMFC Bhuban at the time of filing of this report.
