Odisha Crime Branch Flooded With Complaints Against Gangster Tito
**Bhubaneswar:** The Special Task Force (STF) of the State Crime Branch (CB) which is investigating into the crime nexus of notorious gangster Tito today confirmed the blocking and freezing of five accounts which had more than Rs 16 lakh cash.
The STF interrogated one Bapu Parida of Paradeep regarding his association with Tito’s gangs. There are more than 25 cases in name of Parida including murder, attempt to murder and rioting. He heads the Nirakar Dumper Association in the port city with a large fleet of heavy vehicles, construction firm supplies and chips contracts under its kitty.
One Sarojini Mishra of Golden Land development complained against Tito and his associates in connection with a land annexation case. The gangster allegedly usurped 36 ‘guntha’ land at gun point and made garage for parking and maintaining heavy vehicles and other construction materials.
In another case, one Premanand Lenka complained against Tito and his associates regarding extortion of Rs 70 lakh at gun point for a tender work worth Rs 7 crore. The STF is also investigating into how Tito managed to own a number of petrol pumps under ‘benaami’ transactions.
“Tito’s wife Benazir Bibi will be soon questioned by the STF team led by one female Inspector at the former’s house in Kendrapara. Benazir is a housewife but controls a number of petrol pumps apart from a company named BIPL. An Audi car worth Rs 90 lakh is also registered in her name,” the Crime Branch said.
