Odisha Crime Branch To Investigate FM College Student’s Self-Immolation

Bhubaneswar: The State Crime Branch will investigate the sensational self-immolation case of FM College student Soumyashree Bisi. Vinaytosh Mishra, DG of Police, CID-CB, Odisha, has entrusted the task of investigation to DSP Iman Kalyan Nayak of CAW & CW, Bhubaneswar.

The case, registered at Sahadevkhunta police station, has been taken over by the Crime Branch.

An official order issued by the Odisha Police Crime Against Women and Children Wing states that Inspector Panchali Rout will assist the Investigating Officer in the case.

According to the order, DSP Iman Kalyan Nayak will have the powers to function as Officer-in-Charge of Balasore District’s Sahadevkhunta police station for investigation, as per Rule 431(C) of Odisha Police Manual Rules. The case is registered as CAW & CW PS Case No. 05/2025 under relevant sections.
