**Bhadrak:** In a bizarre incident, panic and curiosity gripped the locals of Karanjamal panchayat under Chandbali block here after steam and hot water started emerging from the ground here on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, there were some electrical disturbances in the earthing wire of the village transformer due to which the local electric department decided to cut the wire and shift its location.
After scouting for a new spot and digging a hole in the ground to establish the earthing connection, hot water and steam started emerging in huge amounts from the opening in the ground that took everyone by shock.
Villagers thronged the spot to witness the scene; however they were also struck with panic and fear. Many suspect that some gas captured under the ground came in contact with air and formed the steam, meanwhile the exact story behind this can be ascertained only after authorities’ intervention.
