Odisha: Death Toll In Flood-Related Incidents Mounts To 8 As Aged Killed In Nuapada

Nuapada: The death toll in flood-related incidents in the State rose to 8 as a 65-year-old man was killed due to wall collapse in Nuapada district.

The deceased has been identified as Trinath Bhoi of Bishibahal village of Michapali panchayat under Komna police limits.

Last night, the walls of the kuccha house collapsed on a sleeping Bhoi. He passed away immediately. Today morning Komna police sent the body for autopsy even as his family demanded compensation from the State Government.

Nuapada district has been receiving incessant rainfall along with other districts.

In rain, flood and wall collapse related incidents, four persons had died in Mayurbhanj district, two in Keonjhar and one person had died in Sundargarh district. Two persons are reportedly missing from Mayurbhanj and Bargarh in similar incidents, the Additional Chief Secretary-cum-SRC had said on Thursday.
