Koraput: DGP Abhay held a meeting with senior police officials here today. This was Abhay’s first official visit to Koraput after assuming charge as the police chief of Odisha. Issues like left-wing extremism, anti-Maoist operations, crime against women and organised crime came up for discussion at the high-level meeting.
South Western Range DIG, Shafeen Ahmed said, “The DGP reviewed police functioning of the range and took stock of the crime situation and anti-Maoist operations. He advised us to prioritise policing to check crime against women and children, besides appreciating our efforts in this direction.”
The meeting was held at SWR (police) headquarters here. Senior officials of Odisha police including IG (Operations) Amitabh Thakur, ADG (Law and Order) DS Kutte and IG (Intelligence) RK Sharma also attended the meeting.
SPs of six districts, senior officials of Border Security Force (BSF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) were also present.
