Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay today visited Swaviman area of Malkangiri district and reviewed anti-Maoist operation and law and order issues of the district with senior officers of Border Security Force (BSF) and State Police, said an official press release issued by the Odisha Police headquarters, Cuttack this evening.
Abhay visited the company bases in the Swaviman area and went to Bedapadar, Janbai, Bedapada, Jantapayi, Gurupriya Bridge and other places in the erstwhile cut-off area.
He also reviewed the security of Gurupriya Bridge, the life line of Swaviman Anchal during his visit.
Issues related to left-wing extremism, anti-Maoist operation and law & order were discussed threadbare.
In the course of his visit, the DGP also visited Papermentla police station and interacted with the staff there.
Senior officers including Satyajit Mohanty, Director Intelligence, V T Mishra, ADGP Hdqrs, R K Sharma, Additional Director Intelligence, Rekha Lohani, IGP (Mod), Amitabh Thakur, IGP (Operation), Shefen Ahamed K, DIG, Anirudh Singh, DIG, and Rishikesh Khilari, SP Malkangiri were presented during the visit of DGP.
