**Rayagada: ** In the wake of the landmine blast perpetrated by the Maoists in which a young District Voluntary Force (DVF) jawan got martyred during combing operation against the red rebels here in the district on Monday evening, Odisha Police has woken up to the occasion to review its strategy and further tighten up its belt accordingly to stem the rot.
Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) R.P. Sharma on Wednesday rushed here to review the ongoing anti-Maoist operation launched by the security personnel in the left wing extremism (LWE)-affected undivided Koraput district.
The DGP held its review meeting at the Rayagada SP’s office attended by ADG (Operation) R.P. Koche, IG (Intelligence) R.K. Sharma, SIW IG Ghanashyam Upadhyaya, South-Western Range DIG S. Shyni and Rayagada SP Rahul P. R.
Notably, the ruthless landmine blast was triggered by the merciless red rebels on Monday evening hours (April 9) at Shakata under Muniguda block here in the district in which DVF jawan Sanjay Majhi got martyred.
The Odisha Police Intelligence Wing has information that a team of Maoists from adjoining LWE-infested Chhattisgarh has intruded into Niyamgiri hills of Odisha and the ultras are now camping there to unleash their terror tactics on the security personnel here in the southern parts of the State.
