Bhubaneswar: DGP BK Sharma on Saturday suspended Khurda Sadar Police Station (PS) IIC Bikram Keshari Jena on charges of indiscipline.

As per an office order, Jena has been placed under suspension with immediate effect pending drawal of departmental proceeding for his unauthorized absence from duty, non-response to recall notice amounting to disobedience of order and indiscipline conduct.

During the period of suspension, he will remain under the disciplinary control of DIGP Central Range, Cuttack. He will draw the Subsistance Allowance (SA) and Dearness Allowance (DA) as admissable under Rule 90 of Odisha Service Code.

It is worthwhile to mention that Jena had been earlier summoned by the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch (CB) over his alleged links with mining mafia of Khurda district. However, he had refuted the allegations.
