Addressing a press conference, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo praised the budget, saying that the state’s demands, put forth in the pre-budget meeting, have been met.

“I must thank the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for including Odisha’s demands what we had put forth during the Pre-budget meeting. Odisha will get ample job opportunity so that youths will not migrate to outside for work as the Finance Minister has focused on the development of tourism sector in Odisha including coastline, temples, heritage, forest etc. She has also prioritised the farmers and farm sector,” he said.

Singh Deo said that Prime Minister fulfilled all his promises he made during election.

“I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on behalf of the government people of the State. The promises made by the Prime Minister during election period were reflected in the Union Budget,” he added.

This is the biggest budget Odisha has received from the Centre. Today’s budget is too ahead of the budget of UPA government, the deputy CM pointed out.

The people of Odisha will get the benefit from tourism sector, agriculture, seafood export, Singh Deo said. Odisha has received more than its due share in this budget, he added
