Odisha Dy CM Pravati Parida Emphasizes On Infra Development Of Anganwadi Centres

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Minister Women & Child Development Pravati Parida has emphasized the infrastructural development of all Anganwadi Centres in the State after taking charge of the Women & Child Development Department.

Parida visited the Women & Child department and held a review meeting till late in the night in the conference room of the Department in Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary, W & CD Department Shubha Sarma presented the achievements, plans and challenges of the department.

Parida had a detailed discussion with the departmental officials about the implementation of various programmes and advised them to reach the grassroots level and solve the issue with the partnership of various departments.

She directed the department to provide regular training and insurance facilities to members of the Anganwadi. She also directed for regular inspection of the preparation, hygiene and quality of Chhatua and other food served in the Anganwadi Centre. She also dialled the State Women Helpline number to check its functionality.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to increase the number of working women hostels and provide crèche facilities in various government and private institutions.

She also directed the department to prepare guidelines for the Subhadra Yojana and to implement it within 100 days.

Parida focused on the crime against women and directed the State Women Commission to settle the pending cases within the time limit through mutual understanding and camp court. She proposed the Department to review the implementation of the Vishaka guidelines.

Shubha Sarma, Principal Secretary, W&CD Department along with  Monisha Banerjee, Director, WCD and other senior officers of the Department were present in the meeting.
