Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has carried out a significant reshuffle among senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.
According to a notifications issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, 1999 batch officer, who was holding the post of Principal Secretary to Government, Excise Department with additional charges of CMD, OPTCL and Chairman, Odisha State Beverages Corporation Ltd., has been appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Forests, Environment and Climate Change Department. He will, however, continue to hold the additional charge of CMD, OPTCL.
Santhanagopalan, 2001 batch officer, currently serving as Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha and Ex-officio Principal Secretary to Government, Home (Elections) Department, has been allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, Excise Department and Chairman, Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited.
Consequently, the additional charge of Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma as Chairman, Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited stands terminated from the date Santhanagopalan takes over.
In another development under Balwant Singh, (2007), Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Tourism Department, has been allowed to continue in the additional charge of Chairperson, Odisha State Highway Authority.
The earlier notification that had allowed him additional charge of Managing Director, Odisha State Highway Authority has been formally cancelled.
