**Bhubaneswar:** Odisha Film Development Corporation Chairman Kuna Tripathy has shown interest to contest Assembly elections from Cuttack.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Tripathy said that the decision of ticket allocation rests with BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.
“I am not lobbying for a poll ticket but given an option I would be happy to represent Cuttack in the Assembly,” he said.
Talking to media, Kuna said, “Questions are being asked to me if I’m given ticket. My answer is the party president and the party will decide on it. If the party decides to field me, if the party president deems me to be eligible, mentally I’m ready. But, I am not in the ticket lobby nor have applied for it.”
“Main reason is that I am born and brought up in Cuttack. I’m a part and parcel of Cuttack city’s environment. I’m a quintessential resident of Cuttack city. Obviously a ray of hope lurks in my head and heart, but whatever the party supremo will decide. None has enquired me about my choice of seat to contest,” he revealed.
He also stated, “Whatever responsibilities have been entrusted to me till date, I think I have carried out well. I have been entrusted with the job of campaigning for the party and disseminating BJD’s ideology and message to the general public. I’m in it now.”
Tripathy, a veteran Odia actor had called on the Chief Minister at Naveen Nivas today.
