Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik made a swift tour of Bargarh on Sunday to seek votes for the BJD Lok Sabha and Assembly constituency candidates.
Addressing the vast gathering CM Naveen Patnaik asked, BJD is going to make electricity free from July, are you happy? People give an overwhelming reaction by screaming “YES” & applause.
“The Opposition leaders are misleading people, the BJP leaders are shedding crocodile tears,” he told the people while urging them not to fall for false promises of the Opposition.
“Bless me with your love by voting on the conch symbol”, concluded Naveen Patnaik.
Carrying the address forward, the senior BJD leader Karthik Pandian once again trained guns at the Opposition, during CM Naveen Patnaik’s public meeting at Bargarh.
While addressing the congregation overwhelmed with CM’s presence, the bureaucrat turned politician, Pandian took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance on, “Odia ashmita” (dignity of Odia language) and said, “What they (BJP) have done for the Sambalpuri language; Our CM has written 5 times to the Central Government requesting for the recognition of Sambalpuri language under the Schedule 8 of the Constitution of India, but the Centre took no concrete measures to address the same.
Nothing will happen by just dialogues, one has to prove through his works, said Pandian.
He added that the Central Government took no actions to stop the unauthorised construction of dams by the Chhattishgarh Govt on the Mahanadi River. The Central Water Commission should have intervened to stop but they didn’t.
To protect the lifeline of the people our dearest CM approached the Supreme Court to constitute the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal after which they stopped further construction.
Pandian said, “The Central Minister has done nothing for the legacy of great poet Gangadhar Meher, has not even given money. Our CM has made the museum and memorial honouring the poet.”
In Bijepur By-Election, Union Ministers and secretaries came and promised to take measures to treat cancer, but nothing was done, all was forgotten.
Our beloved Chief Minister promised to build a cancer hospital in Bargarh, and he showed what he did, to make it even bigger, the Chief Minister said, it will be the largest cancer hospital in Odisha.
They said the express train would run here, in Padampur By-Election they said the train will run here, and there would be a station, did it happen? Did you guys see the train? They don’t know anything but only talk big, said; the 5T Chairman.
