Kalahandi: Kesinga, Karlamunda and Madanpur Rampur blocks have been the worst affected due floods triggered by incessant rains over the past few days. In Kesinga block, people from Belakhandi, Kadampada and Gountipada villages have been evacuated.

Around 40 Kanwariyas who were stranded a couple of days back could be evacuated only after Fire Services teams rushed to Kadampada. The district administration has arranged cooked food at 23 locations where 1,000 persons are being sheltered.

Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Misrha visited the areas affected by flood and reviewed the ongoing relief works. He instructed the local officials to make an assessment of the damages and expedite the restoration works.
