Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing, Bhubaneswar detected a case of organized land fraud in which plots are sold by forgery and impersonation. The EOW arrested three scamsters – Haladhar Dash, Subadha Kumar Parida on February 22 and Mamata Parida on February 23, under Sections 419/420/467/468/471/120-B of the IPC.
They will be produced in the Hon’ble Court of SDJM, Bhubaneswar today.
The case in this matter was registered over an allegation by one Lipika Das of Kendrapada. She stated that she was the bonafide owner of the land bearing Plot No.-185, Revenue Plot No.-334, Revenue Khata No.-295 in Phase-II of Vasanta Vihar at Malipada Mouza, and the ROR stands in her name.
But somebody impersonating her as Lipika Das before the Sub Registrar, Khandagiri has managed to sell away the said plot to one Haladhar Dash, of Village- Rambil, Mouza Rambil, Thana- Aul, Dist- Kendrapada by executing a fraudulent Sale Deed without her knowledge.
While the land has been fraudulently purchased by accused Haladhara Das (a retired employee of BMC), accused Subadha Kumar Parida was the identifying witness and accused Mamata Parida impersonated the real owner Lipika Das during execution of the sale deed. Role of some other persons including one Muhorir is being scrutinized.
In pursuance of a well-hatched criminal conspiracy between the accused buyer Haladhar Dash, accused seller Mamata Parida and identifier Subodha Kumar Parida and others with a view to selling the plot of real owner Lipika Das measuring 2000 sq. ft. in Malipada Mouza, Khordha have adopted the fraudulent means in making the false sale deed, impersonating the real owner and arranging the fake identifying witnesses.
Accordingly to materialize their plan, accused Mamata Parida has manufactured and used a fake Aadhar card putting the Aadhar number of real owner Lipika Das and by affixing her own photograph.
The accused Mamata Parida has also signed as Lipika Das on the RSD. The IO during the investigation seized the Adhar, Voter ID Card and Mobile Phone of Mamata Parida, who had impersonated Lipika Das during execution of the fraudulent sale deed and also obtained the certified copy of the forged sale deed from the office of SR, Khandagiri along with forged copy of Aadhar Card.
This gang is involved in multiple such cases which are being scrutinized by EOW and action would be initiated in all such cases.
