Cuttack: Former Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi took charge as the Chairperson of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday.
Sarangi took voluntary retirement from the IPS and was appointed OPSC Chairperson in September.
Speaking to reporters, Sarangi said that his priority was to ensure transparency in conduct of examinations and accurate evaluation of the answer sheets.
At the same time, he said, “I will miss the uniform a lot.”
Sarangi will remain in charge of the chairman’s post in the OPSC for six years from the date of joining office or until he attains the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier, a GA&PG Department notice issued in September read.
