Bhubaneswar: The Principal Secretary of Housing & Urban Development Department, Usha Padhee, participated in a national-level workshop on Affordable Housing organised by NITI Aayog on Tuesday.
The workshop focused on addressing challenges related to land availability, housing supply, and financing in the context of rapid urbanisation.
NITI Aayog released its report, “Comprehensive Framework to Promote and Enable Affordable Housing”, outlining practical solutions for land enablement and innovative financing pathways.
Padhee emphasised Odisha’s commitment to translating these recommendations into actionable strategies, strengthening Affordable Housing in Partnership projects.
The framework suggests land aggregation models, land banks, and transparent land inventory systems, as well as State-level Shelter Funds and fiscal mechanisms to address affordable housing constraints. Odisha’s delegation will develop context-specific action plans to strengthen affordable housing initiatives across the state.
