Bhubaneswar: A stakeholder consultation meeting aimed at promoting agricultural exports from Odisha was held at Krushi Bhavan under the chairmanship of Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment (DA&FE).
The meeting focused on devising strategies to enhance agricultural exports by creating a supportive ecosystem for stakeholders, addressing challenges faced by exporters, and identifying key products with high export potential.
Dr. Padhee emphasized the department’s commitment to improving infrastructure, streamlining export processes, and providing policy support to encourage greater participation in the agri-export sector.
By strengthening the export framework, Odisha aims to increase its presence in global markets and create better income opportunities for farmers and farmer producer organizations (FPOs) by connecting them to international trade.
Dr. Padhee reiterated the department’s dedication to collaborating closely with exporters and stakeholders to unlock the full potential of Odisha’s agricultural sector, positioning it as a significant contributor to the state’s economy.
The consultation brought together key stakeholders, including Director of Agriculture Premchandra Choudhary, Director of Horticulture Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, and representatives from the MSME Department, Commerce and Transport Department, APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), AAICLAS (AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services), and the Technical Support Unit under the PSFPO project.
The collaborative effort underscores Odisha’s commitment to transforming its agricultural sector into a robust export-oriented industry, benefiting farmers and boosting the state’s economic growth.
