Bhubaneswar: In a significant boost to healthcare accessibility, the Odisha Government has announced that free diagnostic services under the Nidaan scheme will now be available at AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries across the state.
Health & Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the initiative would cover institutions providing ayurvedic and homeopathic treatment. Alongside, Nidan services will also be extended to nine medical colleges and over 1,100 dispensaries.
The decision is expected to benefit thousands of patients who, until now, were prescribed treatments largely based on symptoms without adequate diagnostic support. With the new facility, patients will be able to undergo essential diagnostic tests before consulting doctors at these centres.
“This initiative will bring a transformative shift in healthcare delivery and ensure more accurate treatment for people across Odisha,” Minister Mahaling said.
