Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced an extension of its one-time settlement (OTS) scheme for arrear motor vehicle tax, additional tax, and penalties. The scheme, which was initially introduced on December 28, 2023, and valid for a year, will now remain in force until March 31, 2025.

The Commerce and Transport Department issued a notification on Wednesday confirming the extension. The scheme was launched to provide vehicle owners an opportunity to clear their outstanding dues with penalties waived or reduced, fostering compliance and revenue recovery.

This move is expected to benefit thousands of vehicle owners across the state that have pending tax arrears, providing additional time and relief to settle their dues.
