Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Department has decided to start extra classes for poor students during summer vacation from this year. Those students who have secured less marks will be asked to attend these classes and improve their standard, S&ME Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said.
Addressing media persons here today, Dash said that the teachers have been asked to take extra classes during summer vacation. “The students who are weak need special attention. Under the ‘Zero Fail’ mission, we want to make sure that all schools in Odisha attain 100 per cent results.”
It has been observed that the regular pace of the syllabus is hampered if teachers pay extra attention to weak students during the academic session. “To meet this gap and ensure that the weaker students catch up with the bright ones, we have introduced the extra class provision,” added Dash.
The Minister clarified that the summer vacation duration will not be curtailed and the dates will remain the same.
