**Soro:** Unable to put up with the over burden of loan, an old farmer of Joka village under Gopinathpur Gram Panchayat of the block here in Balasore district allegedly committed suicide on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Narayan Barik.
Being also a barber, he used to carry out his family profession moving from house to house in his locality.
Despite being blessed with two sons Suman and Surath, he used to suffer from financial problems and pecuniary pinches most of time, sources said.
Talking to media, his elder son Surath told, “My father had availed loan to a tune of about Rs 1.5 lakh from the Gopinathpur Cooperative Society and from a private company. Unable to bear the loan, he took the drastic step by consuming poison.”
Dr D.K.Sarangi, Specialist, Soro Hospital informed, “Deceased Narayan Chandra Barik, was rushed here at 6.40 am in a poisoning case. He was at gasping condition then. He expired during the primary medical management here. Police has been informed. Legal action will be accordingly taken by the police.”
Soro police is investigating into the case.
