Odisha Fights COVID-19: 130 Doctors, 4 Sub-Collectors Sent To Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: As the COVID-19 situation in Ganjam district remains critical, the State Government today deployed doctors in large number in the district.

According to two notifications issued tonight by the Health and Family Welfare Department assigned special COVID-19 duty to 100 Ayurvedic Medical Officers and Homeopathic Medical Officers in Ganjam.

“They are hereby deployed in Ganjam district for smooth management of COVID duty. They are further instructed to report in person to CDM & PHO, Ganjam by July 16,” the notification read.

Apart from this, 22 Medical Officers (MO) and 8 MOs who have recently joined the Health Department after completion of their Post Graduation have also been asked to move to Ganjam.

“In view of the outbreak of COVID-19, the following Medical Officers are deployed to District Headquarters Hospital, Ganjam in exigencies of public interest with immediate effect,” the Health Department notification stated.

Sub-Collectors of Bolangir, Boudh, Jharsuguda and Kandhamal and Tehsildar of Lahunipada have also been deployed in Ganjam district on COVID-19 duty.
