He added that the death rate of Ganjam has dropped significantly in August, compared to July. The COVID toll of Ganjam is 170 till (August 21).

As the COVID cases in the district are under control the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has decided to extend the restrictions on market places from 4 pm to 8 pm. This regulation will come into effect from coming Monday (August 24), said BeMC Commissioner CS Rathore.

“Apart from restricted activities all others, such as movement of people, opening markets, etc will be allowed from 5 am to 8 pm from Monday to Friday,” Rathore said.

“Another important decision by the BeMC today was to open the borders of Berhampur city. From Monday onwards we will open the entry and exit to Berhampur,” the BeMC Commissioner added.
