Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Fire Services Department has introduced high-tech firefighting motorcycles to improve emergency response in urban areas.
These motorcycles are equipped with advanced firefighting tools enabling efficient action in congested spaces where conventional Fire Services vehicle often struggle to navigate. These vehicles are built to move with ease through narrow alleys and crowded streets.
Designed with urban challenges in mind, the motorbikes allow firefighters to reach critical locations quickly, saving valuable time in situations where every second counts.
Each motorcycle comprises two 21-litre cylinders for water and foam, two gas cylinders for handling emergencies. Besides, 30-metre-long pipe with a water cannon and dual nozzles for versatile firefighting operations have also been included. The bike includes a custom-made water tank rack that maintains its centre of gravity.
The motorcycles are also equipped with advanced communication tools – a walkie-talkie, an emergency siren, and Bluetooth-enabled helmets.
