Bhubaneswar: The flood situation in Odisha is showing signs of improvement, with the water level in major rivers like Budhabalanga and Subarnarekha receding below the danger mark. According to Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, the water is expected to recede completely within a day or two.
The Baitarani flood had inundated some panchayats in Keonjhar district, which has been partially affected. Relief centres have been set up to provide aid to those affected, with cooked food arranged for 7 days, extendable if necessary. Damage assessment has begun, and a report on the damage to houses will be prepared once the water recedes.
The state government is working to drain the water and restore normalcy. Compensation will be paid to those affected as soon as possible. Minister Pujari assured that the situation is under control and the government is committed to providing support to those affected.
