Boudh: A five-year-old child was rescued by Odisha Fire Service personnel from a rock crevice here today. The child identified as Nilamani Nayak was trapped between rocks amid flash floods in Buruguda village under Purunakatak police limits.
As the water was gushing with full force in Buribuda nullah, it was difficult for the rescue personnel to bring the boy out. It took them more than two hours to complete the mission. A team of Charichaka Fire Station had rushed to the spot and rescued the boy safely.
According to sources, Nilamani had gone to take a bath on the river bank with his friends. He slipped and got stuck in the rock crevice. The efforts of the Fire Service personnel bagged accolades as the child was brought out safely.
