Bhubaneswar: As the 14-day state-wide lockdown in Odisha starts from today, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has instructed all Civil Supplies Officers (CSOs) to check black marketing and hoarding of essentials.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Swain said, “I have instructed all CSOs of 30 districts to visit the markets personally and send the filed officers to strictly monitor and check black marketing and hoarding during the lockdown.”
Odisha Government has announced a 14-day lockdown across the State starting from May 5 to 19. The lockdown will be in force from 5 AM of May 5 till 5 AM of May 19. However, there shall be complete shutdown on weekends, starting 6 PM of Fridays till 5 AM of Monday.
Shops selling groceries, vegetables, milk, egg, fish, meat, food, daily ration and essentials shall remain open from 6 AM to 12 Noon from Monday to Friday during the lockdown.
