Odisha Gangster Tito’s 3-Phase Remand Ends, Sent To Kendrapara Barimula Jail

**Kendrapara**: As the last phase 3-day remand of arrested notorious gangster Tito alias Syed Usman Ali ended today, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch sent him to Barimula Jail here in the district as per the order of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court.

In addition to the previously two consecutive remands of five and four days, STF had been granted the third and last remand for three more days on July 13 for further investigation and interrogation of the history sheeter.

The gangster has been under the STF’s radar following a police encounter in one of his hide-outs in Chandikhole of Jajpur district on June 30. Since then, the STF had taken the dreaded criminal under 12 days of remand in three phases.

Tito was reproduced before the Kendrapara SDJM Court today after completion of his third phase remand. While the court has ordered the gangster to be sent to judicial custody in Barimula jail, sources informed that Tito might also be taken on a fourth-phase of remand in near future in connection with other cases pending against him.

During the remands, the STF has stumbled upon several leads into Tito’s unholy nexus and illegal modus operandi.

A team, comprising of a male DSP and two lady inspectors, has also grilled Tito’s wife Benazir on July 13. Though being a housewife, Benazir allegedly controls a number of petrol pumps, landed property apart from a company named BIPL.

On July 12, STF had confirmed the blocking and freezing of five accounts in name of Tito, his wife Benazir and other relatives from which ‘benaami’ transactions had taken place.

More than hundred cases of murder, dacoity, extortion, kidnapping and tender fixing are pending against him at different police stations across the State.
